Dr. David Greenburg

Dr. David Greenburg is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive experience in both medical and surgical eye care. After a distinguished 22-year career in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, including multiple combat deployments to Afghanistan, Dr. Greenburg is proud to join Ophthalmology Associates of Greater Annapolis to continue providing exceptional eye care to the community.

Dr. Greenburg completed his ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he developed expertise in advanced surgical techniques. Prior to his specialization in ophthalmology, he completed an internal medicine residency and a general medicine fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He also earned a Master of Public Health degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, further enhancing his ability to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

He enjoys caring for patients with a wide variety of eye conditions.  He offers surgical management of cataracts and procedures to reduce dependence on glasses such as LASIK, PRK, implantable collamer lens (ICL) insertion, and clear lens exchange, pterygium excision, blepharoplasty, correction of eyelid malposition, and minimally- invasive glaucoma surgeries. He offers medical management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and uveitis. 

Dr. Greenburg brings extensive leadership experience to his new practice. He led the Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery Services at the U.S. military’s tertiary referral hospitals for Asia and the Pacific at Tripler Army Medical Center and in Europe at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, overseeing advanced surgical care for service members, veterans, and their families across multiple continents. He also led the Ophthalmology Service and Department of Surgery at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, home to the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Command and Special Forces. Recognized for his professionalism, honesty, and integrity, Dr. Greenburg was selected to serve as the medical ethics consultant to the hospital commander at Womack, providing guidance on complex medical and ethical issues. Dr. Greenburg has an interest in humanitarian ophthalmology and served in India, Panama, and Laos.

His experience in these high-demand environments reflects his unwavering commitment to high quality, patient-centered care. Now, at Ophthalmology Associates of Greater Annapolis, Dr. Greenburg looks forward to bringing this same level of expertise and dedication to his patients.​
